All That (Prominent) Happened this Week
One of the biggest events was Tron’s partnership with Opera that will integrate TRX and TRC-standard tokens on its browser. Its crypto wallet will allow its millions of users to access Tron decentralized applications (DAPP) and play Tron games within the browser.
Another big development came into the form of Tron surpassing $1 billion in 24-hours trading volume in a year.
“TRON just passed 1 billion USD in 24-hour trading volume. Last time TRX had a 24-hour trading volume surpassing 1 billion USD was on May 1, 2018 – one month before TRON Mainnet launch over a year ago! Good times ahead for all $TRX hodlers & users,” shared Misha Lederman, a popular Tron proponent.
This week also saw Tron setting a record. On May 16th, Tron based Dapps’ record more than 100,000 users breaking the previous record in volume. With 102,000+ daily users, Tron has beaten EOS and Ethereum that registered 135k and 14.5k daily users respectively.
Another success was recorded when Tron transactions surpassed that of the leading cryptocurrency. As we reported, in just 319 days, Tron registered 412,608,460 transactions, exceeding 10-years old Bitcoin’s transactions.
This is not all, a big development was the Tron network’s decision to include a new privacy feature called zk-SNARKs in its public blockchain. Down the line, these features will go live on the official mainnet.
Initially, these will be available internally at Tron which Tron CEO, Justin Sun says will provide a new way to use Tron with privacy protection.
“This is critical to lots of the crypto adopters in the industry,” added Sun.
On the price front, the 11th largest cryptocurrency is currently trading at $0.028 with 24-hours gains of over 5 percent. Till date in 2019, it has surged 48 percent.
