The information has been released by Agora that works as an off-chain voting platform and allows users to vote on different issues. It works in a very simple way by submitting cryptographically signed messages.
One of the first use cases of this new system of governance is with the growing ecosystem of VR districts. They are in the process of creating their own leadership teams, independent governance models and development plans.
According to the company, each user has a different weight on their votes according on the number of LAND contributions that the user has made to the District that holds the poll. Additionally, other polls not related to specific districts will have their votes weighted based on the amount of MANA held in the user’s wallet.
At the moment of writing this article Decentraland (MANA) is the 92th most important virtual currency in the market. It has been increasing its prices relatively to Bitcoin since it appeared in the market and each token can be bought for $0.095.
