Aion Launches a First in a New Blockchain Java Virtual Machine (JVM) for Developers
While a lot of the attention that is given to us the progress being made by the crypto and blockchain Industry is focused on institutional investment and individual adoption, there are also great strides being made in making blockchain more available to developers.
This is important because it is developers who will create the next generation of Internet programs and as such, making blockchain accessible to them and also making it attractive to them will ensure blockchain’s survival into the next generation of tech.
There is good news in this regard as the Aion Network has announced it will be launching a new virtual machine that is built on top the popular Java virtual machine. The network is dedicated to rebuilding the internet in a way that will put the user first and this marks the first blockchain virtual machine that will be available to Java developers which marks a new era of development on the blockchain.
Details On The New Project
While the blockchain virtual machine is available on Java, it is not a rewrite or a modification of the underlining Java virtual machine and instead works as a supplementary software layer that will interact with the java virtual machine as developers are able to crate dapps and smart contracts.
Java works to provide a secure and transparent environment for those who are not very familiar with the crypto landscape and this is the first step that will be taken towards promoting more extensive use of blockchain within the developer community.
Since crypto is not as readily familiar to a lot of developers, Aion is combating this by linking it to the Java virtual machine because Java is one of the most commonly used programming languages and this helps solve the problem.
“We made the strategic decision to leave the JVM intact so we could fully leverage the mature ecosystem around it,” said a company representative. “Leaning on a hardened language like Java was crucial since a major obstacle for a business interested in Blockchain is the cost and time needed to train their teams on unfamiliar frameworks, languages, and tools,” said Matthew Spoke, their CEO.
Aion is also taking steps to promote blockchain education through Aion learn and their Aion University, which is a collection of engineers, academics designers, and entrepreneurs who provide a catalog of developer tools and application templates in order to help upcoming developers improve on their skills. According to the CEO, they have a unique opportunity to build a foundation for the future economy and that they hope to contribute to this future by helping to train the best and brightest within the future workforce.
The Aion blockchain makes use of multiple tools that are really popular within the mainnet so as to create a system of accessibility for users and this, in turn, promotes the popularity of blockchain
“Aion aims to become the common protocol used for these blockchains, enabling more efficient and decentralized systems to be built. The Aion protocol enables the development of a federated blockchain network, making it possible to seamlessly integrate dissimilar blockchain systems in a multi-tier hub-and-spoke model, similar to the internet,” their CEO said.
