Amazon Marketplace Sees Two New Books Allegedly Written by Satoshi Nakamoto Himself
Satoshi Nakamoto has so far maintained his pseudonymous personality for over a decade. But even with that, the name alone is known by millions of Bitcoin enthusiasts who still marvel at his eponymous white paper.
But, as it is always the case, there’s never a dull moment on the internet. Apparently, two books purportedly authored by Nakamoto himself are now retailing on Amazon. In fact, according to a thread on Bitcointalk.org, both books are set to be released within a month.
One of the books, known as The Official Bitcoin Coloring Book, is reported to be a 64-page piece complete with ‘Zen-inducing, cryptocurrency coloring fun.’ They even allege that the book is printed on a “brilliant white paper.”
The book’s description is as captivating as you would imagine. It mentions that with the book is filled with Zen-inspired feeling of “relaxation and inner calm,” proof of the coloring work which would inspire one to take advantage of BTC’s potential.
The product page further explains the book as having clues regarding a mysterious “cache of priceless Bitcoin treasure.” It seemingly points to a ‘safe box’ containing the bounty and hidden by Nakamoto somewhere on the internet. All the claims seem dubious, though.
The other one basically is an assortment of Wave and Ripple designs, which bizarrely don’t liken to those of cryptocurrencies. Instead, all the Mori Yuzan-style illustrations are alleged to have been inspired by the shadowy Bitcoin creator’s own collection.
Interestingly, nothing other than the book’s name seems to come closer to crypto. Weird as it sounds, the book ostensibly plays around with the idea that Satoshi could be Japanese, from the name of course.
But Both Books’ Reviews Say it all
You only need to head further down to the reviews section to realize that both copies are an absolute joke. Some of those who’ve reviewed them include JP Morgan’s Jamie Diamond, Etherum’s Vitalik Buterin and the American billionaire investor, Buffet Warden!
The joke gets a notch higher upon reading through the Amazon author profile who shamelessly states that all proceeds go to charity. It alleges that Nakamoto, the books’ supposed author, will donate all the royalties amassed to unnamed STEM and environmental education causes targeting “underprivileged youth.”
Well, you could say anything, but this, without a doubt, is world-class trolling. The identity of both books hasn’t been known yet, let alone the shrouded Satoshi Nakamoto. But that doesn’t mean the books are unquestionable.
Everything aside, if indeed all the proceeds are going to charity, then all the fun appears to be for a good cause. But don’t waste your time and money on a sick joke when lots of legit books on Bitcoin, blockchain, and cryptocurrency are easily available.
