Animoca Brands’ F1 Delta Time Racing Game Offers Crypto Collectibles for Cars, Drivers and Components
- F1 Delta Time of Animoca launches first in-game crypto collectible.
- 1-1-1 is available to purchase via auction.
F1 Delta Time is known to the crypto community as a blockchain-based racing game, but they will now have notoriety for a completely new reason. According to a post on CoinDesk, the game has decided to break the mold and launch the first crypto collectible within the racing game.
These collectibles, based on the ERC-271 non-fungible token standard, makes it possible for each token to have their own characteristics.
The creators of the game decided to clarify exactly how these tokens will work in the game, saying that the tokens will be used as currency in the game. However, when paying entry fees and buying certain items, the collectible tokens will be necessary to the game.
Animoca Brands is responsible for developing F1 Delta Time, and they publish both products and games. The F1 Delta Time game is their first racing app that is based on the blockchain and is the first platform that they have implemented collectibles.
Right now, the first collectible vehicle – 1-1-1 – is already up for auction, passing $92,000. The auction alone is making history as well, since it is one of the first in-game NFT sales from a creator of games that has any kind of mainstream influence.
Even though there are very few people that would ultimately decide to lay down 360 ETH for a virtual car, the demand for this type of opportunity has been obvious. As other properties are introduced to this system, Animoca will clearly be a brand to watch in this area of the crypto industry. Will a collectible Garfield hairball be added too?
