Apple Makes an Unfriendly ‘delisting’ move towards the Coinbase Wallet Crypto Dapps!
The ongoing cryptocurrency craze will probably take a while before iPhone owners get the full experience. One would think that the trillion dollar company would be among the pioneer adopters of crypto coins but that is not the case as of press date.
This sentiment was recently confirmed when the ‘War Riders’ video game, initially featured on the iOS applications via the Coinbase wallet was recalled from the platform. Basically, the game involves navigating within a wasteland with apocalyptic features in-built within the graphics. What one does is build an army represented by cars whereby the vehicle is in turn a representation of NFTs (non-fungible tokens) meant for operations on a blockchain network.
Information obtained by news outlets within the crypto space gave a heads up on this inconvenience to iPhone users,
“Quick heads up – we will be removing from the iOS version as we're not able to highlight dapps that facilitate purchase of digital goods.”
As it stands, War Rider is the only application incorporated within the Coinbase wallet with the ability to sell Non-fungible tokens. Another popular DApp that is yet to be integrated is ‘CryptoKitties’ whose function allows clients to buy & breed ‘digital cats’. However, the War Rider game can still be found on the Coinbase’ Android wallet platform.
Apple’s difficult relations with the crypto industry are not news to the market. The company had initially removed Coinbase from its networks and a pioneer Bitcoin-related game featured on the iOS store.
Trust wallet CEO, Mr. Radchenko is among the crypto enthusiasts that have complained about Apple’s lack of responsiveness when it comes to crypto. His argument is further supported by the grey area which allows NFTs to operate within Apple devices according to guidelines set up for the iOS store.
Decentralized Applications (DApps) on Coinbase
The disagreement on featuring the game began early this week after the Coinbase move to host DApps non-fungible tokens within its application. This meant that the War Rider game could now receive support for operating its NFTs hence one could make direct purchase of the tokens via Coinbase while playing.
Within a day, the game was no longer showing up amongst Coinbase’ featured DApps. However, Kartashov assured the growing crypto community that the game will indeed meet the expectations of users given the space to grow in existing tech platforms. At the moment, Certified is yet to fully describe the mode of play but has already commenced selling premium cars for playing the game. In addition, the War Rider game targets the post-apocalyptic game enthusiasts with a competitive edge in its new infrastructure,
“These vehicles will also be modernized and will not be from the 70s like it is in the most post-apocalyptic games,”
Benzene (BZN) ‘ERC20’ token in the War Rider game
The Non-fungible token will be assisted by Benzene (BZN), an ERC20 based token to complete the War Rider gaming ecosystem. The BZN will be made available to participants in an algorithm guided manner via caches as one engages in playing.
According to the technical description of the project, BZN are meant to operate externally whereby players will have the task of safe keeping the tokens as part of the game. This means that they will be required to safely deliver the BZN in garages for real world application of the coins, while there’s a probability of being robbed along the way by other participants in the game.
Initially, the premium vehicles (NFTs) will be BZN filled to make samples available for the target market. The BZN will not be for sale purposes and only NFTs will be purchasable for playing the War Rider video game. As of today, Certified’s Non-fungible token pre-sale is ongoing although the actual coins are yet to be released to the buyers. The issue on Apple’s controversy with the crypto-related game is yet to be clarified.
