Appreciating the Impact of Mobile Web Browsers on Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency Adoption

As unbelievable as it seems, the mobile browser is probably the most popular cryptocurrency app. These applications are no longer limited to being just a gateway to the internet from your mobile device. Mobile browsers have since evolved and now pack powerful features such as crypto wallets, DApp stores, and VPN, making them a convenient companion to any crypto investor.

Simplifying Crypto Trading

The evolution of mobile browsers has certainly simplified the process of investing in cryptocurrencies, especially for beginners. Even better, developers are gradually adding new hardware and software features that enable entry-level mobile phones to access Web 3.0. It may be still a work in progress, but these advancements could play a vital role in increasing the mass adoption of virtual currencies.

Dream Team is an esports token designed for the gaming industry, where it can be used for making purchases and rewarding competition winners. Despite its usefulness, the creators of this token had found it hard to get it to the target population – hardcore gamers and their fans. This challenge, however, was solved by the introduction of in-app crypto wallets, which has made it possible for the gaming community to simultaneously transact in Dream Tokens while streaming live events from their mobile devices. The most popular apps with this gesture are the Opera and Brave mobile browsers for Android.

Powerful Features

Before the rise of the Opera mobile browser, investors had to have desktop computers to enjoy in-browser crypto transactions. Ethereum and ERC20 tokens were accessible from the MetaMask browser, while Bitcoin Cash was reachable using Badger. Then, Opera integrated the ETH wallet, enabling traders to conveniently transact using their mobile phones.

In March, Opera made yet another significant development, introducing VPN functionality for their mobile browser. The latest update of the app also features crypto pairing which allows users to link their mobile crypto wallets to their desktop browser. Regarding this, Opera developers said that the new functionalities are in line with their objective of making the browser the ideal choice for people looking to invest in crypto assets for the first time.

The Compatibility Of Hardware And Software

Besides Opera, other key contributors to the adoption of digital currencies through mobile are Samsung and HTC. HTC is known for developing the Exodus smartphone that comes with the Zion hardware wallet. Zion is compatible with the Opera browser, which acts as the platform for enabling users to send, receive and spend their crypto holdings.

Recently, the Exodus received an update that adds support for stellar in the Zion wallet. Other coins supported by the Zion wallet include Bitcoin, Litecoin and Ethereum. Moreover, users can now buy crypto using their credit cards thanks to a partnership between Simplex and the Zion wallet. This service costs $10 plus 5% of the amount involved in the transaction.

In other news, Brave launched Brave Rewards Beta for Android, an initiative through which users can reward content creators using their native BAT token.

There’s no denying that the improvement of mobile browsers has contributed to the rising adoption of cryptocurrencies. With the efforts being put in, this trend is certainly set to continue for a long time.
