Ari Paul, CIO of BlockTower Capital, Becomes Advisor to Hedera Hashgraph
Ari Paul, the CIO and Managing Partner of BlockTower Capital, is breaking new ground as he expands his services beyond his own platform. In a press release with PR Newswire, Paul is now being named as an advisor to Hedera Hashgraph. Hederal Hashgraph is an enterprise-grade public ledger, which is meant to offer diversified governance, and is praised for the most distributed consensus at scale. The news was also publicized by Weiss Ratings on Twitter, who added that the “project keeps getting better and better.”

On this new endeavor, Paul praised how the platform is working to push the boundaries of distributed ledger technology in its performance and security. With the timing of their work, Paul calls this moment “exciting,” adding that the team is “remarkable,” and led by Dr. Leemon Baird and Mance Harmon. Baird is the co-founder and chief scientist for the team, while Harmon is the co-founder and CEO.
The main goals of Hedera Hashgraph is to focus on the adoption of the public ledger tech, but in four specific areas – governance, security, stability, and performance. Harmon and Baird collaborated and patented the hashgraph technology, following their time in the United States Air Force Academy and with multiple startups together. These startups eventually were sold to private equity firms and larger companies.
Last year, the platform brought in $124 million in fiat currency to help with Hedera’s platform development. Harmon commented on the latest addition, saying that Paul is a “luminary investor and though leader.” Much of the reason for adding Paul appears to come from his extensive experience with distributed ledger technology, along with his support for the crypto industry. He added that having Paul on their advisory board “will be invaluable.”
Prior to Paul’s work with BlockTower Capital, he was the risk specialist and portfolio manager for the $8-million endowment portfolio of the University of Chicago.
