Asia Pacific Conservative Union Launches Blockchain-Based Liberty Ecosystem and Crypto Tokens
The Asia Pacific Conservative Union (APCU) has launched a new blockchain-based network specifically designed to fight authoritarianism around the world. The new platform is called Liberty Ecosystem and the information was released by APCU in a recent press release.
Specifically, two executives from the APCU decided to launch this new platform. These are APCU’s co-founders called Jikido “Jay” Aeba, and Yasu Kikuta, who is also the CEO. As per the press release, the intention is to have a decentralized federation of local advocacy and economic development organizations that aim at fighting authoritarianism around the world. Nevertheless, there will be a special focus in the Asia-Pacific region.
The announcement explains that there are governments such as China that invest in infrastructure around the world with the intention to assert control over the political sovereignty of other countries. They mention some nations that are being influenced, including Sri Lanka, Indonesia, and Japan.
In order to power this blockchain network, users will use the Liberty Tokens that create a shared community to empower organizations fighting authoritarianism. Moreover, the initiative has already partnered with other firms, including the token ecosystem Wowoo.
This is not the first project that aims at fighting authoritarianism around the world. Democracy Earth is also proposing a liquid democracy for people to vote on issues they care and delegate the power to decide to other individuals.
Democracy Earth works with an ERC-20 token called VOTE that will be used to provide universal access to liquidity. Some of the supporters of this project are Singularity University, the World Economic Forum (WEF) and the MIT Technology Review, among others.
