Austria Post Office Issues First Ever Tokenized Stamps On Ethereum’s Blockchain
The Austrian Post office recently issued what some have called the rarest stamp in history, as stamp collectors around the world rushed to get their hands on 1,500 red stamps which had 0.01666666 ETH embedded in each of them.
“Austrian Post is offering for the first time a stamp which is also stored as a digital image in the Ethereum Blockchain. This guarantees complete traceability for all former owners of the stamp or their digital image.”
A total of 150,000 stamps have been issued by the post office, each of which has its own digital color. The red ones are the rarest, followed by the yellow ones then the blue and green ones, the most common ones are the black stamps.
The Austrian Post office sold the stamps for 6.9 euro, now the entire collection goes for a whopping ten thousand dollars on eBay. However, the red ones are already sold out on eBay

This crypto stamps can actually be used to send letters but also a collectors item, hence the rarity.
Each of the crypto stamps are unique tokens having unique ID's which makes them different and identifiable. At the moment a total of 150,000 transactions have taken place with these stamps.
Similar But Different
The stamps all look similar, so if you are one of the lucky few to get your hands on one, simple scan the QR code to reveal the actual color of the stamp. If you plan on transferring it, simply scratch off the surface to reveal the private key.
However, if you are a collector, you could just leave it unscratched and in its original package.
