Author of “Bitcoin Billionaires” Joins the Hit TV Series, “Billions” as a Consulting Producer
In the third episode of the third season of SHO’s Billions, Bobby Axelrod (lead character played by Damian Lewis) hands a cryptocurrency hardware wallet loaded with $1 million USD worth of cryptocurrencies to a worker in his firm.
The use case of the wallet remain debatable but it seems we won’t have to wait long to find out as the crypto plot is set to resurface in the fifth season of Billions.
In a tweet published on Tuesday, the famous writer of “Bitcoin Billionaires: A True Story of Genius, Betrayal, and Redemption”, Ben Mezrich confirmed he will be joining Billions as a consulting producer.
The show, set in the deep financial world in New York, shows the extensive drama that usually happens in the investment and financial world.

Ben Mezrich is a prolific writer well known for writing on young technological entrepreneurs who have made a fortune using their various techniques. His most prolific book, “The Accidental Billionaires” was adapted into the award-winning movie “The Social Network” based on Mark Zuckerberg’s rise in Facebook.
The fiction writer further released Bitcoin Billionaires in May based on the life of the cryptocurrency twins, Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, mostly after parting with Mark Zuckerberg.
The new role on Billions is only expected to further the narrative of cryptocurrencies on the show given the bits and pieces already shown.
The Boston-born and Harvard educated writer will now join the crew of Billions during their screenwriting sessions in Boston and New York. Mezrich will be working with Brian Koppelman, the director of the show, and will be present in the upcoming shoots. In a press statement, ye flamboyant writer remarked,
“I’m psyched to be working with the smartest people in TV. I’ve been a huge fan of [co-creators] Brian Koppelman and David Levien since ‘Rounders,’ I love ‘Billions,’ and I’m taking the Acela straight to Hollywood.”

The hit series has previously mentioned various terminologies nascent to the blockchain field and associated cryptocurrencies.
(Spoiler alert) In May, an episode in the fourth season aired whereby blockchain technology was mentioned in relation to mobile voting. The benefits of Billions, a show watched by millions across the world, to the blockchain space are huge as it presents the field to a new naïve market.
Ben Mezrich ensures that the information passed to the new market is not only interesting but true. An awesome partnership? Share your thoughts with us in the comment section below.
