What Is Balance?
Balance is an Ethereum wallet that just recently launched online. The wallet, just like MetaMask and MyEtherWallet, lets you store and secure Ethereum-based tokens.
Balance supports the popular ERC20 and ERC721 protocols. That means you can use Balance to store virtually any Ethereum based token – including ETH itself.
Balance has not yet been launched. The Balance.io website lets you join a waitlist for a private beta. It’s unclear when the wallet will launch.
Features of Balance
Balance just appeared online in February 2018. The website features just a single screenshot of the wallet. There’s limited additional information about the features planned for the wallet or any future upgrades.
Some of the features that appear to be available include:
- Store all ERC20 and ERC721 tokens
- Setup multiple wallets within your wallet (similar to HD wallets)
- View your entire balance across all Ethereum tokens
- View individual breakdowns for each token, including the quantity of tokens, the current price of the token, and the total value of your tokens
- Alphanumeric wallet address
- Send, receive, and buy ETH directly from the Balance wallet
The long-term goal of Balance is to branch outside Ethereum wallets to create a wallet that covers every digital currency exchange in the world.
