Binance Adds Fiat Nigerian Naira in Collaboration with Ripple Partner; Binance.US Supports Dogecoin
- Binance opens deposits for Nigerian Naira (NGN) through Flutterwave
- Binance.US registers record volume, CZ said Binance took longer to unlock this achievement
- DOGE sees green following the listing
The leading cryptocurrency exchange Binance has now opened deposits for yet another fiat currency, Nigerian Naira (NGN), the legal tender of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, through Flutterwave. Users can now use NGN to buy BTC, BNB, and BUSD.
Flutterwave is a Ripple partner that joined RippleNet in Oct. 2018 to process payments across Africa.
As of Oct. 24, 12:30 UTC, new trading pairs BUSD/NGN, BNB/NGN, and BTC/NGN to the Stablecoin Market (USDⓈ) on Binance have been added.

NGN deposit fees are set at 1.4% with the maximum deposit amount per transaction being 430,000 NGN, while 150 NGN is the minimum deposit amount per transaction.
Now, to celebrate this listing, all the newly registered users who deposit NGN to Binance through Flitterwave will have to pay zero fees for deposits up to 36,000 NGN.
A total of 10,000 USD worth of NGN has been committed by the exchange to give to its new registered users worldwide, which will be served in a first-come-first-served manner.
Record Volume on Binance.US along with DOGE
Binance.US has also made a new addition, albeit a digital currency, Dogecoin. Trading for the DOGE/USDT pair will open on October 24, 2019, at 9:00 pm EST / 6:00 pm PST.
The 28th largest cryptocurrency is one of the few ones that are trading in green. At the time of writing, DOGE has been trading at $0.0025 with 24 hours gains of 2.26% as per Coincodex.
Just recently, Binance.US surpassed $10 million in trading volume. According to Coingecko, in the past 24 hours, Binance.US recorded $14.9 million in trading volume, in just over a month since it first launched the platform in the US.
About this growth, Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao commented,
Took @binance longer to unlock this achievement back in the day. Most people underestimate the effort involved in jump starting a new platform.
