Binance Blockchain Week in Singapore Concludes After Attracting Thousands Over The Week
The much-hyped Binance Blockchain Week which was held in Singapore has come to a close. Over the four days, they attracted thousands of attendees and hundreds of startups.
The first item on the agenda at the Binance Blockchain Week was the Binance SAFU hackathon. The competition, which ran from January 19th and 20th, was followed by the actual conference which ended on January 22nd. The hackathon is an incentive started by SAFU (Secure Asset Funds for Users). Its objective is to improve the security of digital assets and other applications of blockchain technology. SAFU is confident that high safety standards will promote the adoption of blockchain tech.
To justify the need for this event, the company wrote on their website:
“Currently there is a large degree of turmoil in the crypto market. Uncertainty is plaguing the industry and companies are facing a growing number of challenges. There is a need to unite efforts and initiate a global blockchain movement that will re-energize and create a positive orientation for blockchain and the industry as a whole.”
In addition to Binance boss CZ, delegates included Tron founder Justin Sun, Yoni Assia, CEO of eToro, Da Hongfei, Founder of NEO, and representatives from a number of crypto organizations including Ontology, R3, ConsenSys, Circle, Ripple, PwC, Qtum, Vertex, Bloq, and the Ethereum Foundation.
$100,000 USD Giveaway
The hackathon was incentivized by a $100,000 giveaway which was won by 3 teams. In an official statement Binance said:
“In addition to keeping platforms secure from attackers, we actively fight against scam, fraud and money laundering.”
To that end, Binance SAFU Hackathon called all the #BUIDLers in the world to join them to
