Bitcoin Billionaire Of BitMex to Pledge His Fortune to Cause Created By Bill Gates, Warren Buffett
The famous Bitcoin (BTC) billionaire known as Ben Delo, which is one of the co-founders of BitMEX, has decided to pledge the majority of his vast fortune to philanthropic causes, which is an important philanthropic organization created by Bill Gates and Warren Buffett.
Delo is only 35-years-old and he is based in Hong Kong, being the youngest self-made billionaire of the country at the moment. He currently owns 30% stock in the recent BitMex valuation of $3.6 billion USD at the moment and he pledged most of it to 'causes which safeguard the future of humanity'.
According to him, his biggest ambition is to do as much good as possible using his money to safeguard the future of mankind and protect the world. To him, investing in an entity is a way to protect the human race.
Bill Gates commented on the fact that he was thrilled about it. According to him, Giving Pledge is a really global company and he and his wife are glad to see people from so many countries being a part of it. Aside from the U. S. A and the U. K., the philanthropy entity already has donors from Canada, India and the United Arab Emirates.
Giving Pledge was originally created in 2010 by the Gates family and Warren Buffett, known as the richest man in the world. The idea is to have several wealthy individuals pledge at least half of the money they have for good causes. Since these people have a lot of money, they often continue to be very rich after the donations.
At the moment, the organization has 204 donors from 23 countries. They include important personalities such as Elon Musk, Michael Bloomberg and David Rockefeller.
The BitMEX co-founder affirmed that he wanted to be a programmer and to work with computers since he was a teenager. He also wanted to be a millionaire, which he ended up doing, so he is very grateful to be so successful in this endeavor.
Crypto And Charity
Despite how often people associate cryptos and greed, the fact is that the community is very charitable. Several people from the industry created fund or made donations.
Coinbase’s CEO Brian Armstrong, for instance, is another person that is already a part of Giving Pledge. He affirmed that after you already have some amount of money, you have to look over your own ambitions and do something for the world.
According to him, he had a goal around ten years ago: to start a billion-dollar technology company, something that he achieved. He wasn’t so interested in the money itself but on the creation of a product that would reach a lot of people in the world and be really relevant.
Vitalik Buterin, the co-founder of Ethereum, is another important person involved in charity. He has donated $300,000 USD in a single day at a day and often funds technology projects.
Binance, the largest crypto exchange in the world, also has the Binance Charity Fund, which is very well-known and helps people in need.
