Bitcoin Cash Supporters Look to Fork Bisq Decentralized Exchange to Make BCH Native Token
As you may remember, the Bitcoin Cash (BCH) network had a hard fork last November when Bitcoin ABC and Bitcoin Satoshi Vision (SV) split. After some time of indecision, it was agreed that BCHABC was the real BCH, not BCHSV, which ended up being just BSV.
After the fork, however, Bisq, a decentralized exchange, decided to drop both tokens. This has prompted two BCH community members to offer a bounty to whoever was able to fork the exchange using BCH as the native currency. Despite the project taking some time to start, a programmer has accepted the offer and he is currently porting Bisq to the Bitcoin Cash network.
The new developer is trying to implement the hard fork using Bitcoincashj, an implementation created by the BCH developer Pokkst. Bitcoincashj is a Java implementation of the BCH protocol. According to the developer, the work is very close to being finally done.
Bisq is a non-custodial decentralized exchange that uses a multi-signature escrow system. As more and more decentralized exchanges are getting famous, the two original BCH users felt unhappy to be left out of the system, which was what motivated their actions at first. The users, u/ftrader and u/7e62ce852, offered $5,000 USD in BCH to people on Reddit for the fork.
Emilio Israel Wong González, a Mexican developer, accepted the challenge and started the work to fork Bisq. According to González, the project has been slowed down because he has school to attend, but “Bisq-Cash” or whatever name this program will use is shaping up nicely and will be ready before too long. At the moment, the project is being hosted on Github, on Bisq’s “Cash” branch.
According to the developer Pokkst, it is great to see Bitcoincashj being used to help other developers to create their own technologies.
The name of the project, Bisq Cash, is currently being discussed and the benefactors of the project have started the idea to create a pool on r/btc in order to determine the name of the program as soon as it is launched. Another reason for the name change is because the creator of the original Bisq has asked the programmer to change the name of the project in order not to confuse the fans.
There are many BCH projects being created at the moment and this is only one of them. Another important project which has come into prominence lately is Cashshuffle, an app that was created to be used via the Electron Cash wallet and that will be used in other wallets as well soon.
