Bitcoin Comes Back From The Dead 90 Times In 2018 After So-Called Experts Called For BTC’s Funeral
So-Called Experts Have Already Killed Off The Crypto Industry “90 Times” This Year
According to data that has been sourced from the internet, the crypto sector has already died a total of 90 times in 2018. As funny as that might sound, this number is slightly lower than the 125 times the market was declared dead in 2017.
Also, despite all of the negative attention that has digital currency market has been surrounded by over the last 6-12 months, it appears as though bitcoin’s media profile has never been better. Not only that, even statistical information gathered from Google indicates that searches related to bitcoin and other associated cryptocurrencies have skyrocketed all through 2018.
More On The Matter
A deeper look into the matter shows us that searches made for the word “bitcoin” were higher that those associated with Donald Trump. That’s quite a feat considering every mainstream media outlet is currently on a mission to bash President Trump every waking second of the day.
As a result of all of this aforementioned info, it is now quite safe to assume that Bitcoin has finally entered the consciousness of the public at large.
Let’s Have A Look At What The Naysayers Have Had To Say
Just over 12 months back, many of the ideas that were being promoted in relation to crypto and blockchain were considered to be fringe/ niche topics. However, as things stand, it now appears as though even mainstream news sources are covering a wide array of stories related to altcoins and blockchain tech at large.
With that being said, let's have a quick look at some of the people who recently proclaimed that the “Bitcoin market was dead”
(i) Atulya Sarin: Sarin, who is a Professor of economics and finance at the Santa Clara University has been insisting for quite some time that “BTC will never be able to rival gold as a store of value (and that Bitcoiners should cash out while they still can”.
(ii) Peter Mallouk: Mallouk, who is the current Head of Kansas investment firm ‘Creative Planning’, has been a part of the anti-crypto bandwagon for quite sometime now. He was recently quoted as saying:
“I see bitcoin as a dead man walking. However, there are some delusional zealots out there who are desperate to make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear.”
(iii) Erik Finman: Teen millionaire Erik Finman has made the “bitcoin is dead” proclamation more than once this year (since he believes that the currency is too fragmented to sustain itself). Not only that, he also said that while the currency may still have a “few bull runs left in it”, the market at large is dead as a “long term prospect”.
(iv) Calvin Ayre: As many of our readers already know, Ayre is a staunch Bitcoin Cash Satoshi Vision (SV) advocate who believes BTC is all set to plunge to a price point of $0 in 2019 since the currency is “totally worthless”.
Final Take
While many people have continued to hate on Bitcoin, there are folks like Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss who have remained totally unfazed by the ongoing market slump. Infact, the Winklevosses have “bet big” on the long term future of the crypto market— even referring to Bitcoin skeptics as being individuals with little to “no imagination”.
