Bitcoin Gets Featured Episode in New Amazon Show ‘The Giant Beast that is the Global Economy’

There is always a surefire way to know that something has reached mainstream media – being featured in a fictional movie or television show.

Bitcoin and other parts of cryptocurrency has been featured in movies, and a new movie named Crypto is even due to come out this year. However, breaking down the ins and outs of the industry is a task that sometimes requires a little more depth, which may be why it is coming to Amazon Prime.

Announced on a Reddit post, the show “The Giant Beast That Is the Global Economy” includes an episode about Bitcoin. The docuseries is split into 8 parts, and it will break down some of the major money systems found in the world. With a fun and comedic spin on this subject, the show features Kal Penn, who is most well known for his role in the “Harold and Kumar” movies, giving it a familiar vibe that ties in the watcher.

Filled with celebrity appearance, including Meghan Trainor and Joel McHale, the series attempts to bring information to the masses through humor, though it has gotten mixed reviews. As for the particular Bitcoin episode, Penn takes on cryptocurrency and learns what he would need to do for survival in an “economic apocalypse,” as IMDB describes.

According to a Reddit post, the show also features the man who is infamously known for throwing away his hard drive. This story would not be that interesting typically, except that his hard drive was the storage place for $65 million in crypto.
