May has been the most interesting month in the last one year and five months. This magical month saw us first breaking above $6,000 from $5,300 then smashing past $7,000 and $8,000 and now just inches away from $9k level.
On the weekend, Bitcoin went from $7,900 to $8,939. In under 20 minutes, the flagship cryptocurrency climbed $600 US dollars then further adding more than $400. However, since hitting its highest level of 2019 and yesterday's highest point, it has dropped down a bit.
This level was the last hit in early May in 2018 and now by reaching this point, we are up over 136 percent till date in 2019.
At the time of writing, BTC/USD has been trading at $8,760 with 24-hours gains of over 10 percent while managing the daily trading volume of $30 billion as per Coinmarketcap data and $1.6 billion per Messari’s Real 10 volume.

When it comes to altcoins, among the top cryptocurrencies, Bitcoin SV is the winner with about 30 percent gains. BSV is followed by Litecoin that is up over 13 percent, all thanks to its growing network and upcoming halving event.
Tron has been surging since yesterday after its founder Justin Sun shared about an upcoming “ big and amazing” announcement. Just like Tron, Sun’s other project BTT is enjoying the gains but of larger percentage at 29.70%.
Though these are the biggest gainers, Ethereum, XRP, EOS, Bitcoin Cash, Stellar, Cardano, and Monero are also up by 7 to 9 percent. However, Binance Coin is the lowest gainer with just 1.43 percent gains.
Today’s highest coin is Maximine coin with more than 38 percent gains while Aurora is the biggest loser with 28 percent reds.
