Bitcoin Miner William Shatner Joins The Lightning Network Torch On Twitter
The Lightning Network (LN) torch continues to expand in the market. This time, William Shatner, the face of a Solar Alliance, actor and producer, commented about the Tweet made by Jack Dorsey, the CEO of Twitter, regarding the Lightning Network (LN).
A few weeks ago, the Twitter user Hodlonaut started a social media challenge in which users have to send a LN transaction to another user increasing the amount of Satoshis that this transaction has. The challenge eventually reached Jack Dorsey who has actively supported the proposal and the most popular digital currency, Bitcoin (BTC).
In a recent tweet, William Shatner said that he understands what Jack Dorsey wrote.
I understand this!😳😱😝 https://t.co/WQEHqIjxJ4

People started to question whether he really knows what the Lightning Network is or if he was just joking about the message written by Mr. Dorsey. Elizabeth Stark, the co-founder and developer of Lightning Labs, answered Shatner immediately saying that they can help him set up to take the Lightning Torch.
Back in 2014, William Shatner did not seem so positive about virtual currencies, specifically Bitcoin. He said that Bitcoin is a cyber snob currency. In general, Bitcoin and virtual currencies have been associated with criminals and money launderers. However, things changed and Bitcoin is currently used by companies and individuals all over the world to process transactions or pay for different goods and services.
However, in June 2018, he started to promote a Canadian solar crypto mining outfit, thus, users started to comment about it to him.
Other users suggested that Shatner is showing how difficult is to understand some of the different aspects of virtual currencies. For example, there are some terms such as a private or public key that might be not easy to understand for everyone.
Marton Klecska, a Twitter user seemed to have reached the main point of this comment made by Shatner.
He said that Bitcoin was created to be simple for everyone to use it without difficulties. Nevertheless, there are several individuals that remain outside the crypto world because they do not feel confident about how to use Bitcoin and other virtual currencies.
LN makes it too complicated even Scotty would struggle to use it. Bitcoin was meant to be simple so even Jack O'Neill can use it!

The Lightning Network is the ultimate scaling solution for Bitcoin. Developers want to allow the Bitcoin network to properly scale by processing off-chain transactions. During the last year, the LN was able to grow at a very fast rate. In the future, with this solution, scaling issues on the Bitcoin network could be solved.
