Bitcoin Payments Being Accepted Through Trial at Casual Hoteles in Spain Along with Amazon Pay

Casual Hoteles, a hotel chain with multiple locations in Spain, has seen what blockchain technology can do around the world, and how cryptocurrency has connected multiple industries and countries. In order to see how well Bitcoin works for their own needs, the hotel chain has launched a pilot that will be testing out payments from customers in Bitcoin. Right now, the hotel chain has multiple locations in Madrid, Valencia, Lisbon, and San Sebastián.

Right now, the company is attempting to broaden the scope of customers that could stay at their locations, hoping for tech-savvy individuals with affordable pricing in mind. The pilot with Bitcoin will make their brand known to digital investors, who will also have access to Amazon Pay, with the use of mobile devices and digital payment options.

Anyone who wants to use Bitcoin with their purchase has a few ways to apply it. According to Daily HODL, the customer has the option of scanned a QR code at the hotel’s front desk or on the hotel’s website, or they can use WhatsApp to retrieve a euro-based payment code. The latter would make it possible to use BitPay as the payment processor to withdraw Bitcoin and settle in euro.

As far as continuing on with Bitcoin, the most important factor to the Casual Hoteles is the feedback that they will get from the customers that use it. In a statement on the topic, the chain said that their commitment to customers and related groups is enhanced with attention to the market and increase the value they offer. Hoping to think ahead of what customers need, this new Bitcoin opportunity could open the door to a new kind of revenue.

The simplicity of the market is becoming even more important with digital nomads in the market. Co-living network like Roam and Unsettled becoming more popular, traditional hotels need to have some kind of competitive edge to get a piece of the profits. These networks provide simple leases and often involve communal living spaces on an as-needed basis at multiple locations, and the traditional industry needs a unique benefit to offer as well. Bitcoin serves that exact purpose.

A new research report last year, titled Digital Nomadism: A Rising Trend, was published by MBO Partners and Emergent Research. The report stated that the nomadic lifestyle has already been adopted by 4.8 million Americans, based on their survey. However, since there are about 27% of traditional workers that have implied the possibility of doing the same within about 2 to 3 years, taking a digital approach that allows more travel. Casual Hoteles believes that this pilot program will afford this type of opportunities, especially as these trendsetters influence the economy.
