Bitcoin-Supporting Rapper Nipsey Hussle’s Sudden Death of Shocks Fans and Crypto Community
Nipsey Hussle’s death has been an unfortunate shock to many people, as fans around the world mourn the loss.
Hussle, who’s real name was Ermias Asghedom, has a substantial impact on the community, but had multiple ties to the cryptocurrency industry as well, as Bitcoinist reports.
Nipsey Hussle spoke positively about the cryptocurrency community, though his big struggle was with gang violence, something that many other rappers can identify with.
In an interview with the LA Times last year, he expressed that he “grew up in a gang culture.” With his optimistic attitude, his last post said, “Having strong enemies is a blessing.”

The post was made hardly an hour before the rapper was pronounced dead after being shot outside of his clothing company, according to sources who spoke with NBC.

The fame and notoriety around his latest album, Victory Lap, is still at its height, earning a nomination for a Grammy this year. The music community alone is still feeling the sadness of his circumstances.
Another infamous performer, Rihanna, posted to Twitter about the loss, saying that it “doesn’t make any sense” and that her “spirit is shaken.”
This doesn’t make any sense! My spirit is shaken by this! Dear God may His spirit Rest In Peace and May You grant divine comfort to all his loved ones! 💔🙏🏿

While other celebrities, like DJ Khaled and Floyd Mayweather, have found themselves in the middle of major scams in the crypto industry, the promotions that Hussle engaged in were authentic.
Back in 2013, he had invested in Bitcoin, and later became a stakeholder with Follow Coin. The Dutch company aimed to increase the adoption of blockchain technology.

Last year, Bitcoinist had reported on Hussle, saying that the rapper supported mass adoption, which should not be far off. He said that FUD in the industry had everything to do with the entities that are threatened by the concept of decentralization, like financial institutions and governments.
He remained certain that blockchain would become a revolution that saw the same magnitude of the internet. Still, he encouraged potential investors to do their research, and not just follow the crowd.
It is a tragedy that Hussle’s life was ended so soon, especially considering his potential for even greater success in both the music and cryptocurrency industries. He promoted freedom, which is unfortunately an endeavor that he will not see play out. However, that does not make the efforts any less important, especially for the fans.
