Bitcoin SV Wallet Centbee Receives £1 Million Funding from Ayre Ventures
Centbee, a digital wallet for Bitcoin SV, has confirmed that it has received a £1 million investment Calvin Ayre, the founder of Ayre Ventures. Calvin is also affiliated to CoinGeek, an online cryptocurrency portal. This funding was enabled by nChain, blockchain research, and development company that purchased an equity stake in Centbee early last year.
According to Jimmy Nguyen, the investment will improve the speed of transactions on the Centbee platform. It will also lower their costs. Jimmy, who is the head of the strategy at nChain and the president of the Bitcoin Association, added that they will strengthen their partnership with Centbee because it promotes the adoption of Bitcoin SV both in Africa as well as globally.
The investment by Ayre Ventures is among the efforts employed to increase the popularity of Bitcoin SV. In addition, nChain will provide technical support to Centbee by granting access to their intellectual property.
Angus Brown, a co-founder of Centbee, said that the company has installed over 50,000 Bitcoin SV sales points across South Africa. Brown is confident that Centbee will improve cross-border transactions. He stated that the investment will be used in improving the platform, especially by making it more scalable. His co-founder, Lorien Gamaroff, said that he is happy over the progress made by Centbee in recent months.
