BitTorrent Live Streaming App Service For User Testing Announced
BitTorrent Announces Live Streaming
Since its acquisition by the Tron Foundation, BitTorrent has been appearing a lot in our pages. The company has been certainly making a huge effort in order to improve its services under the leadership of Justin Sun, BitTorrent’s new owner and the founder of Tron.
Now, the company has recently announced that BitTorrent would be back to the live streaming game with a new product. The announcement was originally made on Twitter and the platform will be called BitTorrent Live, a platform in which people will be able to create video content to connect with friends and express themselves powered by the BTT tokens.
You Can Already Apply For Early Access To BitTorrent Live
The company has announced that the early access for the users who were too eager to wait already started today. BitTorrent will be like a social media platform and will allow the users to live stream via the app.
Justin Sun, the CEO of the company, has affirmed that the platform will have a strong foundation based on the decentralized technology of the blockchain and that this will be the platform that will help them to create an internet that is truly free of boundaries.
According to the announcement, the users will be able to use the channel in order to look for the subject that interests them the most and to engage with the broadcasters in real time. The BTT tokens will be used as a means of payment in the new platform.
At the moment, the service will be in Beta testing. People who are interested in participating in this new experience will be able to sign up here. However, the real beta only starts in the second quarter (which can mean next week or two months from now).
About Tron And BitTorrent
BitTorrent was created in 2004 and it has become the largest P2P network in the whole world since then. It has over 100 million active users and the company claims that over a billion devices have its program installed. Last year, the company was acquired by the Tron Foundation, owned by Justin Sun.
Sun is often linked to Tron, a decentralized network that is very similar to the Ethereum network. The protocol has seen a large surge in usage and price since the release of its mainnet last year.
