BitTorrent Speed Test Version Yet to Allow Seeding Incentives, Early Test User Claims
Since the announcement by Tron Foundation’s & Bit Torrent CEO Justin Sun on the launch of the Bit Torrent File System (BTFS), the users and dApp developers have increased substantially on the platform.
Following the announcement, the platform is expected to continue its push towards providing a totally decentralized web, or web 4.0.
The Bit Torrent Speed Platform
In a follow-up the announcement by one of the top correspondents on Tron and Bit Torrent, Misha Lederman, a new project is set to be launched later in the quarter.
The Bit Torrent Speed is aiming at providing a decentralized platform that offers users the opportunity to be a part of the tokenized decentralized internet and support content creators all around the world from their torrent client.

The Bit Torrent Speed platform is currently in a test mode with the development team sending out few invites to random user emails to feel the user experience and functionality of the platform. Some of the reviews from the early users of the Speed platform posted on Twitter remain skeptical and dubious on the effectiveness of the platform.
Reviews On The Test Version of The Bit Torrent Speed
One of the early testers of Speed, Twitter user @_theperfesser, is critical on the speed and seeding rewards on the platform.
The user complained on the seeding speed of the platform and further claimed that he had not received any rewards despite seeding for a day on 3 torrents.
Bit Torrent Speed Test App
The Bit Torrent platform is aiming at increasing the download speeds on the platform through BTT token rewards for having seeds and higher bandwidth. He writes,
“Been seeding them since yesterday and so far there are no BTT earnings showing, but they are seeding quite slowly.”
The user further explains that BTT rewards on Speed may not yet be functional (at least on the test version). Replying to a question on the actual download speeds on the test version, the user says,
“Double digit KB/s and I’m on a 77Mbps connection (up and down). Likely just aren’t files that anyone wants to download except those in the early access lol”
Is Bit Torrent Speed An Upgrade?
As the replies on the subject got more intense on the launch of the Bit Torrent Speed test platform, questions were raised on the effectiveness of the platform. One user asked how much BTT can be earned from seeding on the platform and as explained before, the function is yet to be added on this version.
On the subject of speed testing the users were offered to download files above 1 GB on the Bit Torrent platform and the rewards system, the early user responded,
“This is obviously still in development. Given the questions were exclusively about the UI, it wouldn't surprise me maybe the earning part was not working yet, or maybe I just need to grab some normal torrent files that would be downloaded more often and seed those for a while.”
The Perfesser asks for clarification from the Bit Torrent’s team. We will be waiting for a confirmation on the issues in the coming days from the Bit Torrent team and the CEO Justin Sun.
