Bittrex Exchange Delists 32 Cryptocurrencies Including ENJ, QTUM, FCT, STORM
- A couple of dozen tokens to be delisted by Bittrex for US customers
- Non-US customers unaffected
In a surprising move, Bittrex exchange has delisted not one, ten or twenty rather thirty-two cryptocurrencies. Effective on June 21, Friday with this latest step certain markets will be no longer accessible to the US customers.
“Bittrex is proud to be a U.S. Digital Asset Trading Platform” and it is not leaving the US, clarifies the exchange in the wake of such a big list of delisters. It just means the US customers will no longer get access to certain markets rather will have access to a more limited number of markets that are available to non-US customers on Bittrex International.
This change applies only to U.S. customers holding these specific tokens or coins. The announcement will not have any effect on one’s ability to buy or sell the relevant assets on the Bittrex International platform.
The list of these cryptocurrencies that won’t be available on Bittrex no more in about two weeks include:
adToken (ADT), HyperSpace (HMP), BitBay (BAY), BlockManson CreditProtocol (BCPT), Blocknet (BLOCK), Block Party (BOXX), CMT, districtOx (DNT), Data (DTA), Enjin Coin (ENJ), Factom (FCT), FoldingCoin (FLDC), GoChain (GO), Gifto (GTO), Hydro (HYDRO), IHT Real EstateProtocol (IHT), ION (ION), Cred (LBA), Mainframe (MFT), Mobius (MOBI), NoLimitCoin (NLC2), Numeraire (NMR), Propy (PRO), Patientory (PTOY), Quantum Resident Ledger (QRL), Qtum (QTUM), Referum (RFR), Storj (STORJ), Storm (STORM), Swarm City (SWT), XEL (XEL), and Ink Protocol (XNK).
Delisting of these cryptos, however, won’t affect the availability of these markets for non US customers. Additionally, this change won't affect the wallets and the exchange will continue to custody all these assets for a
“reasonable time.”
Once these cryptos are delisted, US customers won’t be able to buy or sell these tokens or coins. The exchange will automatically cancel all open orders in the affected markets on the change date for US customers.
However, the customers may withdraw or continue to hold these cryptos in their Bittrex wallet as long as Bittrex International support them.
A move like this is expected to hit these cryptocurrencies as CEO of Three Arrows Capital, Su Zhu comments,
“Bittrex just delisted a couple dozen tokens for US investors. Imagine waiting for trex alt season and get delist season instead.”
