Bittrex Exchange’s 2018 Highlights: Let’s See How the Crypto Trading Platform’s Year Unfolded
Earlier this week BitcoinExhangeGuide bought you the recap of Coinbase’s achievement in 2018. Another US-based crypto exchange, Bittrex, released the highlights of their accomplishments for last year in a blog post.
Bittrex is a US-based cryptocurrency exchange headquartered in Seattle, Washington. The company was founded in 2013 by Bill Shihara and two business partners, all of whom previously worked as security professionals at Microsoft. At the time of writing, the exchange is the 43rd biggest with the daily trading volume of $36 million.
Expanded Global Footprint
They expanded their partnership that furthered the ability to groundbreaking solutions around the world. In 2018, they launched Bittrex International which combines a streamlined token approval process with Bittrex.com’s cutting-edge trading technology for non-U.S. customers.
The partnership included big names like Palladium, CatalX, Rialto Trading, Cryptofacil CryptoX and more.
Rolled Out USD Trading
Since the middle of 2018, they have been phasing in US dollar (USD) markets for their users. This has allowed the company to ramp up markets, processes, and systems through a measured approach to ensure the highest level of service possible.
At the end of 2018, eligible customers in international markets and 30+ U.S. states have been approved to participate. They have even added 15 token markets to USD trading and expect continued expansion in 2019.

They continued to support building a secure, fully-compliant environment for blockchain that encourages innovation, economic growth, and U.S. leadership in the industry, and that’s why they have proactively engaged in discussions with regulators regarding how this may be accomplished with thoughtful policymaking.
In September, Bittrex Chief Strategy Officer Kiran Raj participated in Rep. Warren Davidson’s “Legislating Certainty for Cryptocurrencies” roundtable to encourage US policymaking.
Supported Innovative Blockchain projects
In 2018 they reviewed more than 2500 tokens and listed 58 of them, 50 on Bittrex.com and 8 on Bittrex international. Currently, they have 302 listed coins. Some of the big names added to the platform were Ardor (ARDR), Sirin Labs (SRN), 0x (ZRX), Tron (TRX), Polymath (POLY) and many more.
