Motif Blockchain Smartphone Lands In The United States

Motif uses blockchain technology and a monetary incentive that allows users to earn points that can be turned into cash. The announcement has been made at the University of Pittsburgh by Pras Michel, and Zippie Ltd.

Pras Michel, founder of Blacture, commented about the launching:

“Everyone has a phone and I mean everyone. Bearing that in mind, we looked for the best technology to improve lives. That’s why we are launching this smartphone as it’s the first that’s designed with the Culture in mind. It’s the first phone that actually pays the user back.”

The operative system is Zippie OS, which was developed by Zippie Ltd. The rewards the users will receive will come from sharing information, offering products and services to the community or making online purchases. The token that individuals using the phone will receive is the ZIPT phone, recently launched by Zippie.

Founder and CEO of Zippie, Antii Saarnio, explains:

“Nowadays people make most of their daily online purchases with their smartphones, and their lifetimes value as customers can be tenfold compared to the price they paid for the phone. Blockchain technology enables us to return part of that value to smartphone users, by making it easier for users to do direct payments and get rewarded with tokens.”

The smartphone will be sold for $350 to $395dollars. The first 500,000 pre-registered buyers will receive $200 worth of tokens on their digital wallets.
