Daniel Larimer Is Not Leaving EOSIO
During the last few days, rumors regarding the future of Daniel Larimer, the founder of EOS and many other blockchains and crypto platforms in the market, spread on the internet and social media. The cybersecurity expert @Cyber_Hokie, wrote a tweet in which he shows a conversation with Daniel Larimer claiming that he is going to work on another project.
In the tweet, the cybersecurity expert mentioned that the EOS mainnet was not running for a full year and Larimer is already working on something else.
EOS mainnet didn’t even make it a year before Dan decided to go work on something else… which umm sounds a lot like Bitcoin… yes that’s Bitcoin… we already have that. pic.twitter.com/NhxOLNCZmv

The information was published on November 28. But Larimer did not take long to answer this message explaining that he is very focused on EOSIO and that he is not leaving the company. In a blog post uploaded on December 3, he says that he likes to share new ideas and suggestions to develop with the community.
Larimer wrote that he has received several critics for being involved in several projects since blockchain technology was created. Indeed, in 2014 he founded the virtual currency platform BitShares and in 2016 the social platform Steemit. Now he works as the CTO of Block.one that is in charge of the development of EOS.
In the blog post, he said that it is important for him to let people know that he wakes up every single day to lead the Block.one engineering team. Additionally, he mentioned that the team behind EOSIO is completely focused on what they are working on.
On the matter, he commented:
“It’s important for me to emphasize that I wake up every day excited to lead the Block.one engineering team, which has grown to nearly 100 engineers, and continues to expand rapidly. As we prepare to release the next layer of infrastructure for developers and consumer to leverage Blockchain capabilities with EOSIO, our focus and dedication as a team can only be described as ‘all in.’”
He then went on saying that the experience he gained for being involved in different projects is what allowed him to deliver the most performant and ‘most adopted blockchain software: EOSIO.’ Furthermore, he said that EOSIO is a fundamental platform for his future endeavors.
Although he is completely focused on EOSIO and is development, he explained that he is curious about other types of inventions in the course of Block.one R&D initiatives.
Larimer stated that he will always be passionate about sharing his thoughts about future possibilities with the community but this is something that should not change anyone’s thoughts on his faith and commitment to EOSIO, Block.one and the EOS community as a whole.
EOS has been severely affected during the last days. It is currently the 6th largest virtual currency in the market and it has a market capitalization of $2.31 billion. Additionally, each EOS token can be purchased for $2.55. In the last 24 hours, EOS is the worst performing virtual currency among the top 91 largest virtual currencies.
