Cryptocurrency wallet provider Blockchain Wallet (formerly Blockchain.info) has announced it's going to add SegWit and full Bitcoin Cash (BCH) support.
“In 2018 we will be rolling out support for SegWit in our wallet goods,” an accompanying blog post reads.
“This is going to be a significant and complex upgrade to some of the most sensitive parts of the codebase, across a huge array of platforms and devices, affecting billions in user transactions with potentially significant privacy implications.”
Blockchain opened up BCH accounts to users in October, approximately eight weeks after the fork initially launched.
The rudimentary sending and exchange tool for the altcoin came via a partnership with ShapeShift, but appeared less than dependable, together with freezes and other strange behavior happening during recent more active trading periods.
Reacting to the information, users further criticized Blockchain's priorities, opting to add BCH support over the much-needed SegWit execution for BTC transactions.
“Market demand for Bitcoin Cash has proven powerful and, in our view, it is likely here to stay,” the article stated.
