The government and the people of Netherlands hold the trophy for being among the friendliest to the blockchain technology. As a matter of fact, the Dutch government is currently working on the development of applications and services that run on the blockchain developments.
To make this possible, Pilots are called upon to map the possibilities and opportunities presented by the new technology, and they get to draw the best path of action based on the many available project prototypes already created when the first projects were implemented.
Another crucial purpose of Blockchain Pilots is to shape the collaboration between the Dutch government and businesses with the neighboring countries the international community. The Pilots invest the latest data capture and analysis techniques to ensure that they provide the best possible and most actionable advise to the Dutch government as well as shape how the public and private organizations, and the Dutch people use blockchain to simplify life.
What The Blockchain Pilots Do
The Pilot project came into existence because there was need for a body with skilled and enthusiastic professionals and experts in the blockchain industry to lead the shaping of how Netherlands interacts with and uses blockchain technology.
Through the projects initialized and implemented through the Pilot program, ministries, municipalities, and other authority organizations have invested time and effort to scrutinize the scope of applications of the blockchain technology in their fields of work and communities. SO far, 40 pilots have already been set and the number of organizations – both governmental and private – that have benefited from them are countless.
With each project launched by the Blockchain Pilots, there was always prototypes developed down the project line. For instance, projects run under the Healthcare Institutes, the Ministry of Finance, and the Human Environment and the Transport Inspectorate as well as other municipality projects produced a variety of prototypes built on smart contracts on the chain.
The largest implementation of the Blockchain Pilot projects began sometime in early 2017. By 2018, the government had referred more organizations to take steps in bringing their blockchain applications and services into production. This is how the project is being shaping the Dutch’s relationship with blockchain.
