Block.one CEO: Blockchain Is a Revolutionary Technology

Block.one CEO Brendan Blumer presented a speech at Blockchain Live 2018 in London. During the speech, he stated that he was pleased to be part of a fast-growing community and to witness first-hand the community’s “extraordinary” progress.

Blumer added that, Blockchain technology is welcoming to everyone and that it is becoming an integral part of people’s lives and:

“Blockchain is to data what regulation is to society. Perhaps this is why, superseding the technology itself, blockchain has become a movement – a social and economic movement – and we are all united by the common understanding that this is a revolutionary technology that offers the promise of a more transparent, efficient, and interoperable world.”

Further, Blumer expressed that blockchain may cause the future of organizational control to change – that is, organization will no longer be run by shareholders. Rather, they’ll be run by users themselves. In terms of the USD, Blumer that it is printed and managed by the Federal Reserve. But, Blockchain currencies are different because they belong to no one As he stated:

“Blockchain-based digital money offers the potential of neural stores of value that offer no bias or advantage to any one group, and seek to usher in a new era of borderless equality-of-value for all societies and nations throughout the world.”

Moreover, organizations in different sectors are changing. Many are existing without a central authority. He concluded his talk by stating:

“While we move through the week and engage in healthy debate and collaborative competition, let this promise of progress keep us all reminded of the shared excitement of a better future that has brought us together in the first place; a blockchain future.”
