Boeing Aerospace Expanding Their Blockchain Team
Most people know Boeing as one of the largest aerospace companies in the entire world, but they have decided to scale out the blockchain to add seven more opportunities to their available jobs. The addition of these spots only occurred just on April 30th and May 1st.
These new jobs can be viewed at https://jobs.boeing.com/search-jobs/blockchain/185/1, and include:
- Blockchain Architect (2)
- Blockchain IT Manager
- Integration Solutions – Senior Architect Blockchain
- Senior Software Developer
- Software Developer
- Product Specialist
New Blockchain Patent
Boeing is not new to the integration of blockchain. In fact, they applied for a patent in June 2016 for “an on-board backup and anti-spoofing GPS (“OBASG”) system for navigating a vehicle through an environment with a GPS receiver.” However, the publication of this application was not released until December last year.
This type of attention to blockchain suggests that Boeing has been keeping an eye out for those opportunities for quite a long time.
Hyperledger Preference
Almost all of the new career opportunities will be for placement within Bangalore, India. However, the Solution Architect position in Integration Solutions will be for in Washington, DC.
The description for Blockchain Architects has the following requirements from Boeing:
“The Blockchain Architect will work towards creating blockchain capability & will be involved with Digital Transformation Environment (DTE) to develop applications via Block chain using Pivotal methodology. This position will place you at the heart of a fast-paced, growing organization where you will have the opportunity to shape the team as it is being created and serve as a key member of the team.
We are looking for a passionate Blockchain Architect to create and continuously improve strategic and tactical plans for blockchain technology.”
For consumers that want to apply to the Blockchain Architect, Senior Software Developer, and the Software Developer positions, there needs to be a “deep understanding of blockchain platforms.” They also required three years of experience in blockchain, which should be through Hyperledger.
By requiring experience that should be with Hyperledger, there is a strong chance that the new employees will see the integration of it on their platform.
