Boston-Based LibertyX Expands Its Bitcoin ATM Network, Exceeds 1,000 Locations in United States
One of the biggest names in the Bitcoin ATM industry, LibertyX just announced that they will be adding 90 new machines to its network. In an effort to expand the network, they partnered with independent ATM operator DesertATM.
Marcus Herrera, VP of Sales of LibertyX says:
“Our ATM operator partners are vital to building onramps to bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. They have worked hard to secure the best and most convenient retail locations for consumers. We’re excited to partner with them to add what we believe will be the most exciting and highest growth product in decades, and ultimately the future of money.”
LibertyX CEO Chris Yim is thrilled to see the demand from ATM operators who have been dying for a scalable, compliant, and capital-efficient bitcoin solution. They have been focused on satisfying demand for the past 6 months and he is proud that he has over 1,000 active ATMs nationwide. The LibertyX network spans thousands of locations across 43 states and allows consumers to buy bitcoin from a cashier, an ATM, or a kiosk.
The owner of Desert ATM Dan Laitala adds:
“We looked at a variety of bitcoin solutions including purchasing our own cash-to-bitcoin kiosks (BTMs). Ultimately, when we tried out the LibertyX solution, it was a no brainer. No one else had the simplicity and track record of LibertyX. They offered and actually delivered on a seamless in-market product. We already had a successful ATM business and, at no cost, we were able to add bitcoin buying to our portfolio with the click of a button.”
Notably, Genmega and LibertyX teamed up in November 2018 whose onboarding ATM operators in early 2019. Genmega adds the bitcoin-buying feature to the ATM only if the operators giving the services are compliant.
