Brave And TAP Release New Information About Their Benefits And Partnership
In a recent blog post released by TAP network, they have announced more details about the current partnership with Brave (BAT). At the moment, the current target is to be releasing TAP redemption options in Brave Rewards as soon as this year, even when they did not provide information regarding when this feature will be launched.
TAP And Brave Release Details About Their Partnership
At the end of February, TAP and Brave announced a partnership in which users will be able to redeem their BAT tokens for gift cards and credit. In this way, it will be possible for users to spend these rewards at over 250,000 companies. Indeed, it will be possible for users to have access to Amazon, Uber, and Apple.
TAP explained what is Hooch and how it differentiates from the TAP Network. Hooch is a standalone app that features redemption offers from partners in the TAP Network. Meanwhile, the TAP Network extends beyond the Hooch app. Users and partners can provide different offers on different platforms.
Brave users will be able to browse a catalog of rewards that will include gift cards from companies such as Amazon, Uber or Apple. There will also be discounts for hotels and restaurants as well. The tickets will have a redemption value that is going to be denominated in BAT tokens.
The TAP Network will be powering the transaction in the background without users having to do anything. They will only have to select their desired reward. Users will also have the possibility to donate to charities and causes that users would like to support.
Users will be able to earn BAT for viewing and engaging with Brave Ads and use BAT to purchase these gift cards on the TAP Network.
About the benefits that TAP Network will receive, they mentioned:
“This partnership increases the total number of users in the TAP Network. TAP Network’s mission is to revolutionize the rewards and loyalty industry and to help consumers monetize their own data. TAP Network wants to design a simple and universal rewards program that doesn’t limit where consumers can earn or use their rewards, all the while fiercely protecting consumer data and privacy.”
The Brave and TAP Network partnership is not available outside of Brave. However, external BAT that is transferred into the Brave Rewards wallet can be used to redemption offers as well.
Users will be able to use other digital assets to have access to BAT and be able to purchase gift cards or hotel stays. This is very positive for virtual currencies that users will be able to spend them in a very easy way. In the future, the TAP Network will be working with major hospitality and travel rewards programs to provide interoperability.
Clearly, the best option for BAT users would be to withdraw funds from the Brave Wallet. Nonetheless, this is not possible. This is why gift cards could be a good option for users to spend their BAT tokens.
Brave’s FAQ page says that users cannot transfer BAT out of their Brave wallet since the wallet is unidirectional. By using it users can securely contribute funds to sites and to publishers.
