Internet archive Receives $2500 In BAT Micropayments
Just recently, The Internet Archive shared that it has received $2500 in BAT tips. The team said they were pleasantly surprised at the account was initially created as a “fun experiment” to test the new technology.
“Last week, we hooked up our cryptocurrency wallet to our Brave creator account. Those tiny micropayments that Brave users had tossed into the Archive’s virtual tip jar had accumulated, growing into more than 9k Brave Attention Tokens (BAT) – the equivalent of $2500 USD!”
Though in comparison to $2.8 paid by advertisers per thousand impressions in Google Ads, this $2500 looks a little amount, as the adoption grows, the gap would start narrowing.
All of this has BAT price surging as at the time of writing, it has been trading at $0.368 with 24-hours gains of over 10 percent as per Coinmarketcap data.
Moreover, according to a recent report by Glassnode insights BAT whales have been speeding up their accumulation for the last five months with “52% of BAT tokens” being held by
“only the top 0.6% of addresses!”
