Brazilian City Close To Rio de Janeiro To Welcome ‘Hostel Bitcoin’ By Engineer
The Brazilian Architect, Alessandro Santos, decided to inaugurate a crypto-related hostel in Paraty. The city is located 260 kilometers away from Sao Paulo, and close to Rio de Janeiro, in Brazil.
Known as Hostel Bitcoin, the hostel was launched on August 16 and was fully booked for the inauguration day. According to local reports, Santos lived in Paraty for the last three years and wanted to create this hostel in the city.
The interesting thing is that all the services and products at the hostel can be paid using virtual currencies.
Mr. Santos explained that the place is very touristic and several individuals are passing to visit another region.
About it he mentioned:
“I am well on the route of the waterfalls, where several jeeps pass daily with these tourists and the attention they give to the theme is notorious. Some even ask the jeeps to stop to take photos of the hostel.”
At the beginning, Santos explained that the hostel was going to accept just Bitcoin payments. However, he informed that they would accept other virtual currencies such as XRP, Monero, and others. The intention is to do it in a very simple way with an exchange account in platforms such as Bittrex.
Their goal, according to Santos, is to help the crypto ecosystem around the world and in Brazil. He decided to start this crypto-Hostel because he likes to trade virtual currencies, he mentioned.
In the future, Santos would like to see other companies start accepting virtual currencies. If his venture works, other businesses such as restaurants could start accepting crypto payments.
There are several companies operating in the country, and the important cryptocurrency exchange Huobi is trying to move into the country. In the future, new companies may settle their operations in Brazil, as it has a very active crypto market and a strong economy.
