Brazilian Major Retail Firm Partners With Blockchain Payment Service Airfox To Drive Adoption Up

Via Varejo, one of the main retail companies in Brazil, has recently announced a partnership with Airfox which was divulged via a press release in September 12. The company owns Casas Bahia, a major retail store in the country for home appliance and furniture. Now Casas Bahia will be integrated into Airfox’s digital banking and e-commerce platforms, which already has almost a thousand shops.

According to the information in the press release, customers will now have a way to buy goods from Casas Bahia directly via Airfox and the clients of the store will have access to microloans using the app. Reports also indicate that the app can be used for depositing and withdrawing money.

Via Varejo is the owner of Casas Bahia and Pontofrio, two of the major retail stores in the country. The company is one of the largest consumer electronics and home appliance retailers and owns 900 stores in over 350 Brazilian cities. It has about 60 million customers and makes at least 1 million deliveries monthly.
