Bread (BRD) and Coinberry Partner For No-Fee Fiat to Crypto Trading

Coinberry and BRD Announce Partnership to Bridge the Gap Between Fiat and Crypto

Coinberry and BRD just announced a partnership to bridge the gap between the worlds of fiat currency and cryptocurrency.

Coinberry is Canada’s first federally-registered commission-free cryptocurrency trading platform. BRD, formerly known as Bread Wallet, has 1.2 million active users in 150 countries worldwide. Together, the partnership is expected to help Bread Wallet users access crypto trading services.

The partnership was announced at the Blockchain Futurist Conference in Toronto, Canada earlier this week, as confirmed by a press release from this past Thursday.

Toronto-based Coinberry uses proprietary algorithms and cryptocurrency exchanges like Kraken to serve its customers. BRD, meanwhile, allows users in 150 countries to store and trade popular cryptocurrencies like bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, and Ethereum, as well as dozens of ERC20 tokens. Bread Wallet claims to be the first crypto wallet released onto Apple’s app store.

Thanks to this new partnership, BRD’s community of 1.2 million users will have direct access to Coinberry’s platform. BRD’s Canadian users, meanwhile, will be able to instantly connect their Canadian bank accounts to the platform through Coinberry.

“We have offices all around the world, but we can’t be everywhere,” explained BRD’s Head of Business Development Peter Shanley in a statement to Betakit.

“So to find trusted, awesome partners and platforms who kind of ascribe to our kind of needs and values of simplicity design, privacy, security, in markets where we don’t have a presence… is a match made in heaven.”

Coinberry is known for its connection to Canadian bank accounts and its lack of long wait times. By accessing liquidity from top exchanges worldwide and linking with Canada’s largest banks, Coinberry can avoid the long wait times seen on other regional crypto exchange platforms.

The partnership with BRD will allow Coinberry to instantly expand its userbase, and Coinberry praised the wallet’s feature-rich interface:

“BRD is both a pioneer and technology leader in cryptocurrency and we are very excited to join forces.” said Andrei Polikov, President of Coinberry in the press release.

“BRD's wallet has all functionality a crypto user could want, and we expect BRD's community will enjoy taking advantage of Coinberry's great rates on crypto.”

Meanwhile, Adam Traidman, CEO and co-founder of BRD, described Coinberry as “a reliable partner” and believes the platform will provide BRD’s Canadian users “with a great crypto-trading experience” by allowing them to seamlessly connect their Canadian bank accounts.

BRD is a decentralized financial services platform that originally began life as a bitcoin wallet. Today, BRD offers functions similar to a banking app, and the feature-rich app continues to expand its offerings.

Coinberry is similar to Robinhood Crypto, which is another commission-free trading platform. With Robinhood Crypto, users can trade top cryptocurrencies without paying fees.

Robinhood Crypto added support for Dogecoin last month and continues to expand across the United states. Today, Robinhood Crypto is available in 18 states.

The Coinberry and BRD partnership is great news for Canadian users frustrated with a lack of support for Canadian bank accounts among major exchanges. With Coinberry and BRD, long wait times are a thing of the past, and it’s easier than ever to bridge the connection between fiat and cryptocurrency.
