Brenden Blumer Accuses Bloomberg Of ‘Breaching Embargo’ Regarding Voice Crypto Social Network
The entire crypto ecosystem was excited about the launch of Block.one’s crypto-based social media app called Voice. However, Brenden Blumer, the CEO of the company was not too thrilled by the way people discovered the news.
Apparently, Bloomberg reported the news prior to the company making it public, which was scheduled to happen on the B1June event.
We’ve had a lot of questions from our community and other media outlets as to why @Bloomberg reported on Voice before our #B1June event. Bloomberg breached an embargo agreed to in writing by Alastair Marsh, acknowledged the breach, but still refused to take down the article

Voice will cultivate creation, sharing, discovery, and promotion of content on social media platforms by real users, not bots and fake accounts. Through a truly self-sustaining economy of ideas, users will directly benefit from their ideas and engagement on the platform. Being built on the EOS Public Blockchain, which runs on the EOSIO protocol, means that interactions on Voice will be public, allows for transparency to be a core part of the experience.
Brenden was evidently angry and wanted to take legal actions against Bloomberg. It takes the opportunity from the company to announce their brainchild to the world and robs them of the moments. Additionally, it gives journalists time to come up prepared with hard-hitting questions which the team might not be prepared for.
He says that Bloomberg abused its power.
“We’re committed to standing up for this ongoing abuse of power on behalf of our company, community, and others similarly wronged. Email us at [email protected] if you’ve had similar issues with Bloomberg journalists breaking written agreements or manipulating markets.”
In just hours after the accusation was made by Blumer, Bloomberg apologized in an E-mail, which the CEO made public via Twitter.

When a Twitter user tells Blumer that it was an honest mistake on the part of Bloomberg, He says:
“Honest mistakes are fine, but refusing to rectify it by simply removing the article while we prepare for our annual keynote is pure abuse of power.“I’m sorry it blighted your day” is intentionally aggravating and arrogant. Our industry needs to stand up to this behavior.”
