Canada’s Glance Technologies Releases New ‘Pay with Bitcoin’ Feature to use with Glance Pay
Glance Technologies is a company that offers mobile payment services to citizens in Canada. Before now, the company already offered the ability to earn digital rewards on their smartphone program, but they’ve now added a new feature for users to apply their Bitcoin. The new addition is called Pay with Bitcoin, and it has already been launched, according to GlobeNewswire.
With the new feature, users have the ability “to pair their cryptocurrency wallet with their Glance Pay account, and then purchase Glance Dollars with Bitcoin.” From there, Bitcoin can be applied to purchases with merchants that participate with Glance’s system. The release also notes that users will have the benefit of “lightning-fast payments.”
CEO for Glance Technologies, Desmond Griffin discussed how the company is fixated on continual development in its industry “to ensure our platform is at the forefront of technology.” He continued, saying, “Pay with Bitcoin allows Glance users to unlock the value of their crypto assets for use in their everyday lives while seamlessly opening up a new cutting-edge payment method for merchants.”
The report notes that this decision to integrate Pay with Bitcoin has a lot to do with complementing the current Glance PayMe application. This application “merchants of any size with an unparalleled suite of payment options, including powerful anti-fraud technology and a robust loyalty rewards program — all managed via the merchant’s own mobile device without the need of any extra hardware,” according to the Globe Newswire press release.
Birks Group is another company that is now accepting Bitcoin. The Canadian retailer and jewelry manufacturer partnered with BitPay to make it possible to accept the cryptocurrency. The state of Ohio is taking this change a bit further, making themselves the first state to allow its residents to pay their taxes with it. According to reports, this payment will be made possible with BitPay, though it will start as a business-only service.
Presently, Bitcoin is trading at $4,316.12, which includes an increase of 2.63% in the last 24 hours.
