Cardano CEO Charles Hoskinson Boasts TRON’s BitTorrent Acquisition Due To Scalable Protocol
Cardano creator Charles Hoskinson recently gave a talk on how his platform is working to come out on top in the race for the leading protocol. In his presentation, he cites BitTorrent, which was recently acquired by Tron, as an example of a decentralized platform that achieved huge success due to its ability to scale.
He emphasizes that many consumers have already used the obvious example themselves:
“So, what do we want to do in terms of scalability? Are there any examples of scalable protocols? Probably everyone has used it before. it’s called BitTorrent.”
Charles asserted that the download speed of Game of Thrones is very fast on BitTorrent and it is the ‘number one’ pirated show in the world. On the other hand, the download speed of Pee-Wee’s Playhouse is slow because it is not preferred by many people.
Charles continued:
“Well, why does it get faster? when people join a torrent’s swarm, they usually add resources more than they take. So more people, more resources, faster better performance. That is a really good distributed system. That’s why half a billion users. That’s why a third of all the internet’s traffic is carried by this protocol. It’s wildly successful.”
BitTorrent is expected to become a portion of the long-held Atlas project, which seeks to integrate BitTorrent into the TRON network. The TRON Foundation is working to improve the BitTorrent peer-to-peer protocol and the current altruism of BitTorrent. The TRON Foundation notes that the protocol used to transmit 40% of all daily Internet traffic. With currently 100 million users, the platform offers a broad reach that TRON can use to democratize Web 4.0 in the future.
Cardano is currently working on the development of Marlowe, whose future use is in the financial industry. Provided Marlowe is fully developed, it should be able to provide, execute and store financial contracts. Particularly in the area of fiduciary services, it should be used.
