Celebrity Actor Johnny Depp Teams Up With TaTaTu Crypto Social Entertainment Platform
It looks like there's an interesting superstar teaming up with a cryptocurrency/entertainment platform this week. Johnny Depp is reportedly collaborating with TaTaTu, which is a social entertainment company run by the entrepreneur, Andrea Iervolino.
This mutually beneficial agreement calls for both parties to develop and produce film and digital content together, with Depp conducting work under his own Infinitum Nihil production banner. Iervolino, on the other hand, who continues to run AMBI Media Group alongside Monica Bacardi, will work on this through his recently launched venture.
The partnership itself officially formalizes and helps to progress a relationship between the two professionals which started back during ‘Waiting for the Barbarians,' an adaptation of the J.M. Coetzee award winning novel, which begins shooting later in October in Morocco.
AMBI will be producing the drama, which will also star Johnny Depp, along with Mark Rylance and Robert Pattinson, and now with the company TaTaTu coming on board as well.
“Johnny has the ability to conceptualize material in a way that few can, and is unburdened of conventional industry formulas that dictate the projects that get made, traditionally,”
enthused Iervolino in a statement.
“As we make strides to embrace disruptiveness, Johnny will be a key collaborator with us and we are tremendously excited to back his visions and instincts on stories to bring to life.”
“In this era of democratized entertainment, I admire the imaginative ethos of Andrea and look forward to collaborating together in a liberating, progressive manner that will befit the principals of our respective entities.”
Officially launched about six months ago, TaTaTu has been making movies in the realm of acquisitions, along with helping to create film and TV content. It's currently working on a Lamborghini biopic which will feature the likes of Antonio Banderas and Alec Baldwin; an original documentary on two-time Jeremy Renner; along with a film from Jim Caviezel and Mira Sorvino called ‘The Sound of Freedom.' The company has also managed to acquire a documentary on the film-maker William Friedkin titled ‘Friedkin Uncut.'
In order to help pay these creators and production costs, TaTaTu trades on the cryptocurrency exchange, Liquid, using crypto tokens as its chosen medium of payment. The company closed a $575 million token pre-sale this summer, according to the company’s announcement.
