Check Out a Modern Looking Freer Cryptocurrency Mining Rig For Home Use
Russian Design Studio Creates A ‘Beautiful’ Mining Rig
A Russian design studio has created a ‘beautiful’ mining rig for crypto. The modular and customizable home miner comes in different colours, sets of ports and displays. The specific needs of a client will determine any adjustments made. Meanwhile, members of the Russian crypto community urging the government to classify individual miners are self-employed. The categorizing will help to lower their tax from 13% to 3%.
Form And Function Merge In This Miner
The current mining rigs are all about function, but the design is not great. It is okay for industrial-grade hardware where there are racks upon racks of ASICs in a mining complex somewhere. However, domestic devices, purchased or assembled at home, are not aesthetically pleasing. They often come with the skeleton frame with about a dozen video cards, fans, and cables. If you are lucky, you can get all that in an ugly square box where the fans are visible. That is not something you wish to see in your living room.
A Russian design studio decided that this situation was not okay. They recently launched what they have termed as the first beautiful miner. The miner is aesthetically pleasing, modular, and customizable.
This miner comes with some ports at the back, various display option at the front, which shows mined coins, and different colour schemes. Designers described their creation in a poem on their site. The poem lauds its beauty, curved shaped, a hidden cooling system. According to them, the design is more fashionable than an iPhone.
The design bureau called this prototype “Freer.” It comes as a shell and the manufacturer is free to place mining hardware inside it. The rig, created by Art Lebedev, is currently run by Artemy Lebedev, a famous designer, blogger, and entrepreneur in Russia. It did not waste much time on the engineering aspect but focused mainly on the design aspect. They did not reveal the details of who ordered the first beautiful mining rig.
There Is Push For Lower Taxes For Miners
This mining rig comes at a time where the Russian crypto community is waiting for a decision by financial authorities in Moscow. The choice is on the regulation of crypto activity such as crypto mining. Voting for the three bills which deal with the matter took place on the first reading in spring. Russia’s lower house of the Federal Assembly, the State Duma, is looking forward to the final adoption during fall.
The legislation will regulate the various aspect of the crypto sector such as the circulation and exchange of crypto with foreign fiat with rubles. Taxation of crypto incomes and profits is one of the main issues. Right now, all revenue from crypto mining remains subjected to the Russian flat income tax of 13%.
There have been different ideas discussed. The latest came from the Russian Association of Cryptocurrencies and Blockchain (RACIB). They proposed that individual miners register as self-employed. The move would lower their taxes to just 3-5%.
