Circle’s Head of Trading, Dan Matuszewski has decided to leave the firm as he feels that he’s garnered great experiences at the firm, but the time has come to seek new endeavors and challenges report Coin Desk.
Matuszewski has since expressed his resignation in a letter which was made out to his colleagues. He shared that while Circle Trade was “born mostly out of accident,” it has been able to not only provide liquidity to its bitcoin payment apps but also helped the firm to expand its market share within the industry.
As for his experience at Circle Trade, he shared that he garnered
“nothing but the best experiences.”
Industry sources claim that the former Head of Trading has plans to start a new trading fund venture, which is deemed the reason for his departure.
Nick Gustafson will be the one to take over Matuszewski’s role, who has since shared with Coin Desk that moving forward, his aim is to expand on the team and ensure that open positions are filled. Furthermore, he wants to contribute towards:
“Continuing to deliver world class market making services and support to our growing roster of counterparties.”
This isn’t the first resignation for the company, as the previous Head of Institutional Sales, Beatrice O’Carroll also left to work at an over-the-counter trading firm based in Boston.
