CME CF Ether-Dollar Reference Rate & CME CF Ether-Dollar Real-Time Index
The Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) Group has developed a system that helps investors see more details about Bitcoin, detailing accurate representation of the Reference Rate and Real-Time Index. By bringing this feature to the market, CME now allows investors to check the same information for Ethereum tokens, which will be detailed in USD. CME Group made the announcement to their followers on Twitter on May 14th, 2018.

Ether has complicated technology within its blockchain, which is why the use of the Ether Dollar Real-Time Index gives a standardized reference rate that ivnestors can rely on. This information helps any user to have more confidence in what they do for the crypto market.
In fact, the entire purpose, according to Tim McCourt (a managing director within CME Group) says that the new information helps to “meet the evolving needs of this marketplace.” Some exchanges already provide this data in a less detailed way on their rates, like Bitstamp and Kraken, offering better rates to users.
Even though the Ether-Dollar information already has the technology that they need for the indexes, there will not be any Ethereum futures releases now or in the immediate future. Since the prime focus is on the indexes, Crypto Facilities is planning to launch Ethereum futures instead. In fact, this exchange already launched the futures almost a week ago.
Investors can find more information about the Streamlined Market Data Platform through Globex Notice by May 17th, 2018. CME Group offers a fill-in form online to send any questions or concerns about their efforts.
