Coca-Cola Gets Logged on the Blockchain, Despite No Affiliation with Crypto
Coca-Cola is considered one of the top companies in the entire world, based on market value alone for 2018. Every day, over 1.9 billion Coca-Cola products are consumed by the general public, so the necessity for a streamlined process in their production is necessary. Though they have been impressively successful since they were created in 1886 by pharmacist John Stith Pemberton, the reason they have remained that was is largely due to their ability to keep up with the demands of the public.
One hardware hacker cannot seem to wait for the progress to catch up. In Spain, he created a vending machine that is compatible with Bitcoin, allowing users to apply their cryptocurrency to the purchase. They were able to use a few different supplies to create this machine, but it will be a while before this kind of opportunity becomes widespread.
Coca-Cola has had no involvement in this machine and has no affiliation with others who want to make this a reality yet. Still, the fact that someone was able to make this a possibility could urge them to eventually get involved as well.
