Coinality is a job board for the digital currency industry. Find out how this “bitcoin freelance marketplace” and jobs board works today in our review.
What Is Coinality?
Coinality is a jobs platform catered to the cryptocurrency community. The platform consists of two core websites, including Coinality.com (the company’s main website and general job postings board), as well as Coinality.io, a freelance market place featuring pre-screened developers.
The websites are run by Coinality, LLC. The main Coinality.com site features 14,698 jobs at the time of writing, as well as 750+ resumes. However, the company appears to be focusing on its Coinality.io service moving forward.
The Coinality jobs board was launched in September 2013.
How Does Coinality.com Work?
Coinality.com lets users post job vacancies for positions paying in bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. It allows users to acquire bitcoin in a method that doesn’t involve mining. Some people want to work in exchange for bitcoin, and Coinality gives these users an opportunity to find those jobs.
At the time of writing, Coinality has a limited number of postings on Coinality.com. The top job posting is actually a sales commission job for the sale of Coinality. The company is hiring someone to facilitate the sale of their company in exchange for a 10% commission.
Other job postings include a VP of Engineering position at Kraken, a Software Engineer position by Kraken, a Blockchain Developer position at Thomson Reuters, and an Ethereum Blockchain Developer Solidity EVM at Digital Assets International.
Other job postings involve mining pools, blockchain technology development, sales, and other positions. If you’re a blockchain developer with experience, you may be able to find a job on Coinality.com.
How Does Coinality.io Work?
Coinality.io is a different entity from Coinality.com, although they’re both run by Coinality, LLC. Coinality.io is a bitcoin freelance marketplace where employers can connect with pre-screened freelance developers who are prepared to work in exchange for bitcoin. It’s a mix between a job board and a recruitment agency. Coinality finds qualified blockchain developers, then connects them with companies who need developers.
Here are some of the core features of the Coinality.io platform:
- The Best Developers: Coinality was designed to allow “only the best developers” on its platform. The company invests “substantial time and resources getting to know” their freelance developers. They conduct multiple interviews, for example, to ensure they only onboard honest developers who are effective communicators.
- Technical Competency Exams: To ensure it works with the best developers, Coinality.io gives developers technical competency exams.
- Active Monitoring: After developers have been onboarded to the platform, they’re continually monitored “to confirm their continued commitment to technical excellence.”
- Fees: Clients will pay the contracted value plus a 10% fee. This fee covers the pre-screening efforts, escrow payment protection, and arbitration services.
The blockchain industry is experiencing enormous growth at the moment. We’re working in an industry where someone with 5+ years of experience in blockchain technology is a seasoned veteran – because it’s not possible to have much more experience than that. Blockchain is brand new, and there aren’t a lot of certification or verification programs available. That makes it difficult for companies to hire the right person for the job. That’s where Coinality.io sees an opportunity.

Coinality, LLC also recently launched a second website at Coinality.io, where they plan to offer recruitment services to bitcoin companies. The company will pre-screen developers, test developers on their technical qualifications, and then continue to monitor developers over time to ensure their compliance. Then, Coinality will help bitcoin companies connect with these developers in exchange for a 10% fee.
