Coinbase Debit Card Experiences Problems With Processing and Purchases Days After EU Launch
It is no secret that several crypto companies are trying to help cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin to break into the mainstream. This would benefit them a lot, after all. Coinbase’s effort to launch its crypto debit card in Europe is the latest of these efforts.
However, this effort was far from perfect. Coinbase, which recently announced the Visa-based debit card that would let its European users spend Bitcoin (BTC), Litecoin (LTC) and Ethereum (ETH) to make transactions in any place, is seeing many technical issues.
Some reports affirm that only a few days after the launch, some bugs were already being reported. The support of the company managed to find and solve most of these problems, though, but the community was worried about them.
People reported having issues when processing their cards, which caused them problems during the transactions that they were making. Coinbase officially affirmed that it was looking for a way to fix these issues as soon as possible and most of them were actually solved individually. The company also issued an official fix that would help with the situation.
Card purchases, however, were disabled for some time after the company tried to solve these issues, so we can certainly deem this to be a somewhat rocky launch. After some time, the use of the cards was enabled again and the exchange affirmed that it would monitor any kind of additional activity.
According to Coinbase, most of the problems with the payments were related to purchases made on Android for 3ds enabled debit cards. Users who made their purchases in other ways were not affected by the problems of the launch, they affirmed.
In order to solve this problem, the company also asked all users to only use the 6.0.2 version of the program or any later update. The previous versions did not include the fixes on the problems that caused so many trouble for the users.
Some users applauded the efforts of Coinbase in order to solve the problems, while others remained skeptical about the rocky launch. The truth is that the launch could have certainly been better than it was but there is still plenty of time to get better.
