Coinbase announced on August the 3rd that it is working on the final testings in order to support Ethereum Classic (ETC) on their platform. This is part of a broader plan that the company has to add new assets to their platform.
“Today, our engineering team is beginning final testing of support for Ethereum Classic (ETC) on Coinbase. We are making this announcement consistent with our process for adding new assets.”
As per the report, the final testing should be completed by Tuesday, August the 7th. After it they will announce that it will be possible to accept inbound transfers of ETC. Additionally, the company will be allowing 24 to 48 hours of inbound transfers through Coinbase Pro and Coinbase Prime.
Back in June the 11th, Coinbase released the information about its intention to start implementing ETC on its platform and different products.
The different products that are going to support Ethereum Classic are Coinbase Custody, Coinbase Markets, Coinbase Pro, Coinbase Prime, Coinbase Asset Management, and Coinbase Consumer.
At the moment of writing this article, Ethereum Classic is one of the most important cryptocurrencies in the market according to the recently glitched CoinMarketCap. ETC is being traded for $16 dollars and has registered an 11% increase in the last 24 hours.
